Bloom - Fused Glass Mold

The Bloom fused glass mold casts a beautiful 4" flower. Fill it with your favourite glass, then add frit, stringers or murrini to embellish. Every bloom comes out of the kiln a little different, and that's the fun of it. It's an original design, handmade by me in small batches.

Size & Details

• Finished bloom: about 4" across
• Mold: 5" across, so it fits easily beside other projects on your kiln shelf
• Airflow notches underneath, so there's no need for kiln posts

Tips for This Mold

• A murrini centre with frit or stringer petals looks amazing in this shape.
• Keep pieces fairly flat and away from sharp points pressing into the petal walls.
• Tack fuse for texture and dimension, or full fuse for a smooth, glossy bloom.

Fill Weights & Firing

Prep the mold with ZYP before your first firing. Use 85–100 g of glass for a tack fuse or 100–120 g for a full fuse. It works with any COE of glass. How My Mold Drops Work

I release my molds in drops. When a drop opens, you place your order and I get to work making your mold by hand in my studio. If you can add this mold to your cart, the drop is open.

Sold out? Tap Notify Me When Ordering Reopens on this page and you'll get an email as soon as this mold is available again.

Each drop stays open until the studio reaches capacity, which usually happens on drop day, so don't wait.

Production time: about 2–3 weeks after the drop, plus shipping. You'll get an email as soon as your mold is finished, boxed and ready to ship.

Orders of more than 6 molds may need extra shipping because of package size. I'll be in touch if anything needs adjusting.
